We have booked our tickets to Exeter 1 month ago and was thinking where we should book for accommodation. There were Premium Inn just right across the Exeter St.David’s Station which would be convenient. But we were thinking to stay at somewhere different where we get to have a different experience. We came across the Woodbine Guesthouse on Booking.com which actually has the same price as if you booked on their website.
As you should expect, Exeter is not a cheap city to travel to which is the same as accommodations. Our booking cost £85 which is £2-3 more than Premium Inn (without breakfast). Where we saw there are reviews on TripAdvisor saying Woodbine Guesthouse provides Breakfast Hamper which sounds very exciting. The price doesn’t fluctuate a lot but it really depends if you are looking for a single room/ twin room (both En-suite), and it could be as low as £60 and as high as £85.
Woodbine Guesthouse is actually very close to the Exeter Central Station, within 2-3mins walk. The host were a pair of old couples where they have their kids living down at Paignton and they love to travel. So sometimes they will be away from town which blocks the dates.

By the time you check-in, the host would provide you a Breakfast Hamper. Asking you to leave it at the desk on the ground floor with your dietary and the time you want your Hamper to be delivered in the morning.

On the next day morning, we had our breakfast hamper delivered at 9AM which was everything we have asked for! The yogurt were very tasty and fruits were very fresh. We basically think this was a breakfast that can feed 4 people, it was too much for 2 skinny girls and we had to takeaway part of the pastries and the prosecco.
If you want more tea, there are more choices just right outside of your door.
Our Experience: We would love to explore the Exeter University on the next day and was trying to have the host to store our luggages until 5PM for us. However the host had to head off to visit their kids from 2PM-7PM which would make it inconvenient to both of us. Therefore we had to find somewhere else to store our luggages.
In general, the host made us felt very comfortable. The beds were very soft and the food were excellent. The bathroom was clean, it was just the TV that lost the signal at night.
